Who this policy covers

OffWePop serves visitors in the United Kingdom and Ireland. If you are in the UK, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply and the supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you are in Ireland or elsewhere in the EU, the EU GDPR applies and you may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or your local authority. We honour whichever regime applies to you.

Your location

If you choose "Use my location", your browser asks your permission first and we receive your approximate coordinates. We use them solely, in your browser, to estimate journey times to destinations. We do not store your coordinates on our servers, do not log them against your account, and do not share them with anyone. Journey times are currently calculated on-device, so your location is not sent to any third party for this purpose. You can always type a town or postcode instead — postcodes are looked up via postcodes.io, a free UK postcode service, which receives only the postcode you type.

Accounts

If you create an account we store your email address and a securely hashed password with our authentication provider, Supabase, on servers in the European Union. Your saved favourites and trips are linked to your account so they work across devices. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the account menu (Delete account), or by emailing us; we action any emailed deletion requests promptly.

Emails

The only emails we send are the ones needed to run your account — confirming your address when you sign up, and sending a reset link if you forget your password. We do not send marketing email, and we do not share your address with anyone.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track you across other sites. We record anonymous, aggregated events — for example, which vibes are popular — to improve the service. These cannot be used to identify you.

Booking links

"Find a stay" links go to Booking.com and include our affiliate identifier; we may earn commission on bookings at no extra cost to you. Once you leave OffWePop, Booking.com's own privacy policy applies to anything you do there.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your data, and you may object to or restrict our processing of it, by emailing us at the address above. We respond within one month.

Retention & security

We keep account data for as long as your account exists; when you delete your account, your email, favourites and saved trips are removed. Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate only. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS, and passwords are stored only as secure hashes, never in plain text.
